We are currently seeking Software Engineering Managers (SEM) to fulfil roles in our client-growing Capetown, La Lucia or Centurion-based offices.

As an SEM, leading a team of talented technologists to success by being accountable for the end-to-end delivery of products and/or projects aligned to business objectives, processes, and standards.

Load & Performance - identify software bottlenecks/contentions, design and execute performance and load tests, analyze data to provide meaningful recommendations and confirm theoretical limits, and provide strategies to optimize performance which includes benchmarking for future changes. 

The team in charge of creating computers and software is managed by a software engineering manager. The design and development of software programmes are typically the software engineering manager's duty, working along with other talented engineers in the team.

Security - conduct Application Security Testing to ensure that software is safe from malicious, exploitative attacks, and maintain confidentiality, integrity and availability across all aspects of the software under test.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a team of talented technologists to success by being accountable for the end-to-end delivery of products and/or projects

Key Requirements:

  • 3 Year IT or related professional qualification
  • Experience in software development
  • Experience in managing a team/s of developers
  •  An understanding of software development and design principles, software and agile development methodologies, and full software development life cycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Responsible for each phase of the end-to-end Product/Project life cycle as applicable
  • Aligning product/project strategy with the business, customers (internal and external), and technology through collaboration
  • Driving and supporting OKR’s – organizational goals – achieving set targets and milestones
  • Empowering and managing the team to explore new technologies, reducing technical debt, and improving processes
  • Define, track and measure product business benefits realisation 
  • Accountable for the reporting and analysis of the relevant performance metrics
  • Prioritisation and planning of Backlogs / Demand Pipelines and, where applicable, Product Roadmaps
  • Ensure risk mitigation plans are in place
  • Team Management

Tech stack includes:

  • C#
  • .NET 6.0
  • CSS/JavaScript/HTML5 frameworks (jQuery, Bootstrap, Angular, etc)
  • Relational databases - DB2 and SQL Server
  • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and/or Crystal Reports


    The candidate should have a minimum of 7 years of software development experience. 

    The candidate should have the right to work in South Africa. 

    This is a full-time permanent role. 

    The role is hybrid, 2-3 days office based (Cape Town, La Lucia or Centurion-based offices)
